We are Treasure Coast Barbers United Inc. — a Fort Pierce nonprofit that believes a fresh haircut can change a child's entire trajectory. Since 2021, we have been serving youth across St. Lucie, Indian River, and Martin Counties through free professional haircuts, school supplies, and career mentorship programs.
A fresh cut changes how a child walks into a room — head high, eyes forward, ready.
In 2015, Gregory L. Jones Jr. — a professional barber and 10-year cosmetology instructor at Indian River State College — noticed something troubling. Kids at school were pulling their hoodies tight and refusing to take them off in class. Not because they were cold. Because they were ashamed of their hair.
Gregory partnered with Paul Mitchell, Andes, and local cosmetology schools to organize Fort Pierce's first community barber event — free haircuts, no questions asked. The response was overwhelming. That first act of community service became Treasure Coast Barbers United Inc., officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2021.
Today, TCBU runs multiple annual events, has served 500+ youth across the Treasure Coast, and is building career pathways, mentorship programs, and mobile outreach units to reach every corner of the community.

To ignite confidence in our youth — one self-care service at a time. We believe that access to quality grooming is not a luxury. It is a foundation for self-worth, academic performance, and life outcomes.
To empower our youth to become civic-minded professionals — individuals who are skillfully trained, ethically grounded, and committed to working with others for the greater public good.
Empowering Treasure Coast youth through quality self-care and barber services to help them feel better about themselves, perform better in school, and make better choices in life — one fresh cut at a time.
These five principles guide every haircut, every mentorship session, and every community event we host.
Every young person deserves to feel proud of who they are. We deliver that confidence through professional self-care services that make an immediate, visible difference.
We are stronger together — as barbers, as families, as a Treasure Coast. Every TCBU event brings our community closer and demonstrates what collective care looks like.
We honor the skill, artistry, and professionalism of the barbering trade. Every cut we deliver reflects the highest standards of our profession and our respect for each youth we serve.
We lead with empathy in everything we do. We see the child behind the chair, the family behind the child, and the community that surrounds them all — and we serve all three.
We show up — to every event, every mentorship session, every community call. Reliability is how we build trust, and trust is the foundation of everything we do.
Treasure Coast Barbers United Inc. is built and driven by barbers, educators, and community leaders who show up because they genuinely believe in the mission.
